The idea for the event "Looking Good, Feeling Great" originated from consultations between the Dún Laoghaire VEC Community Education Service and representatives from a range of community groups.

As well as the free treatments, this event provided a wonderful opportunity for the students in the Beauty Department to talk with older people and exchange ideas and views on trends, treatments and methods available to enhance well-being throughout life. An enjoyable day was had by all with treatments ranging from facials, manicures, massage, to nail painting.

The pampering didn't end there as all participants received a goody bag with lotions and potions to continue the pampering at home.

This event provided a great opportunity for second year students to get some practical experience with clients in a salon environment. These students will complete their studies in May 2012 with industry standard qualifications in CIDESCO, ITEC and CIBTAC.
