The 2010/2011 SCD Graduation and Awards ceremony took place in O'Reilly Hall UCD on Friday 25 November 2011. The Leader of the Labour Party, Tánaiste & Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Eamon Gilmore, TD was the guest of honour at this special event.
This celebratory occasion acknowledged individual and group achievements, paid tribute to the excellent work of the College and its staff and honoured the recipients of awards.
The event was attended by the CEO of Dun Laoghaire VEC, Carol Hanney, members of SCD's Board of Management, former CEO of Dun Laoghaire VEC, John Ryan and former Principals of SCD, Jack Griffin and Barry O'Callaghan as well as representatives from various professional awarding bodies.
The SCD Honorary Graduate Award was presented to John Lonergan in recognition of his contribution as former Governor of Mountjoy Prison. Stefan Paz Berrios, former SCD graduate, was the recipient of the Patrick O'Reilly Graduate Award. Stefan currently lectures in Multimedia in the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire and Senior College Dun Laoghaire.
