The RDS Simmonscourt was the venue for the Beauty Therapy National Skills Competition which took place on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 March 2010 at Ireland’s premier beauty trade event, the Irish Beauty Show. The event was hosted by the Associated Irish Therapists (AIT) and the Irish Beauty magazine.
The competition was won by Clare Cullen, a second year Beauty and Body Therapy student at Senior College Dun Laoghaire, who beat off stiff competition from students attending Further Education Colleges in Cork and Waterford.
Clare will have the opportunity to compete in the competition again next year, the winner of which will represent Ireland at the 41st World Skills Competition which will take place in London in October 2011. Clare will be formally presented with her award from the Department of Education and Science by President Mary McAleese in June. Congratulations to Clare and the staff in the Beauty Department who assisted with the competition.
