Through the ages artists have interpreted the human form through the medium of painting, drawing and sculpture.
The Life Drawing and Mixed Media course is an introduction to the art of capturing the human form. The course aims to develop the student’s creative and technical skills through life drawing, clay modelling, lino printing and mixed media work.
A model will attend for six weeks of practical life drawing classes. The course is taught by Jacqueline Duignan, a full time tutor in the Design Department at Senior College Dun Laoghaire.
Class Materials
Students are required to purchase the following items prior to attendance at class:
- Spiral A3 Sketch Book
- 2B Pencil
Additional items - clay, armature and lino print will be required - Jacqueline Duignan will advise during class.
Attendance
The course will run on Wednesday nights 7-9:30 pm for fifteen weeks commencing 22 September 2010. Additionally, to encourage art appreciation, there will be two gallery visits arranged for Saturday mornings.
Certification
On successful completion of the course, students are awarded a FETAC Level 5 qualification in Drawing.
Tuition
The cost of tuition on this course is €195. Additionally, students are required to purchase art materials and essential tools costing approximately €70. Your tutor will advise you of the extra materials required.
