Senior College Dun Laoghaire - College of Further Education is a long-established, state-run College. It is situated 8 kilometres south east of Dublin city centre and is well served by public transport, including Dublin's urban rail system known as the DART.

SCD welcomes applications from international students. The College seeks to provide an environment where the international student will feel at home and gain both academically and personally. Modules of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) are provided, as well as special assistance in curriculum terminology and vocabulary.

General Course Information:

  • All courses begin in September and finish in late May. The courses are all full-time and involve on average 20 hours of timetabled classes per week.
  • All courses are conducted through English. The minimum standard of English required for admission to any of our courses is Higher Intermediate (First Certificate) or equivalent.
  • Students whose first language is not English should be able to demonstrate that they have the minimum required standard of English prior to joining the course. All International students are required to attend an advisory meeting in September prior to course commencement.

Applicants will also be required to pay for textbooks, examinations and a College registration fee, and other miscellaneous costs, details of which will be notified on receipt of application.
