Course Structure
SCD provides education and training for both the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC), the International Therapy Examining Council (ITEC) and the Comite Internationale D'esthetique et de Cosmetologie (CIDESCO) qualifications, which are the world's foremost international qualifications. This course caters for school leavers, graduates and mature students. It is intensive and requires a high level of ability, enthusiasm and commitment.
Core Elements
- Anatomy and physiology of the head, face, neck and body
- Skin, skin types, skin care, skin diseases and disorders
- Nails, manicure and pedicure, nail diseases and disorders
- Cosmetic science, hygiene, first aid, make-up, eyelash and eyebrow treatments
- Facial massage, depilation, bleaching, face masks, electrical treatments, heat and light treatments
- Body massage, cellulite, exercise and figure correction, figure configuration
- Electricity elements, electrical treatments

Assessment and Certification
Examinations take place in April and May. Case studies are required for CIBTAC/ITEC modules.
Students are prepared for the following Diplomas:
- CIBTAC Facial Therapy
- CIBTAC Body Therapy
- ITEC Reflexology
CIBTAC and ITEC apply a rigid set of standards governing attendance, learning, and examinations.
Graduates who achieve CIBTAC and ITEC qualifications can become overseas members of CIBTAC and ITEC.
Information Technology (Memento Salon Software) is certified by Phorest.
Progression
Education/Training
On successful completion of the one-year CIBTAC course, students are encouraged to progress further by studying for the Advanced Beauty Therapy Diploma in year two.

Entry Requirements
Five passes on ordinary level papers (grade D or higher). Alternative equivalent qualifications may be accepted. Applicants should submit details of achievements.
Mature Students (including VTOS and BTEA)
Applicants who can demonstrate their general ability to complete this course may apply.
Places are limited and a high demand is anticipated. Early application is advised. Applications will be processed strictly in order of receipt. Applicants will an advisory meeting to offer guidance and ensure course suitability. Applicants will also be advised on course costs, uniform, product kits and registration details.
Fees
- There are no tuition fees for EU students. At course commencement, students are required to pay for books, exams, a College registration fee and where applicable professional body registration fees.
- Students will be required to purchase certain items including a uniform and product kits.
