Course
Certificate in Auctioneering and Estate Agency
Introduction
The Auctioneer/Estate Agent is mainly engaged in the sale, by auction, private treaty or tender of all types of property and commodities. An Auctioneer/Estate Agent also manages property lettings, collects rents and advises generally on the development of property.
The Professional Valuer advises on sales, purchases, insurance, compulsory purchases, mortgages and probates and will also act as a Court-appointed Receiver. The Valuer advises on the intricacies of changing market conditions and a variety of related problems.
The profession itself, with personal interaction at its core, is as much about people as it is about property. A reputation for honesty and integrity are important factors in the success of an Auctioneer or Valuer. Negotiation is an important part of the work, which calls for common sense, sound judgement and attention to detail.
