Introduction
This course is designed for those who want to acquire the skills to use computer applications at an advanced level and learn the basic concepts of web design, the internet and cloud applications deployment. The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) qualification is part of the Microsoft Business Certification Series.
MOS is a comprehensive performance based certification programme approved by Microsoft to validate desktop computer skills using desktop applicaitons. The use of cloud applications is increasingly of interest to businesses in order to reduce IT costs.

Assessment and Certification
- This course is certified by the Microsoft IT Academy and FETAC.
- Learners who successfully achieve all the Microsoft Certificates and have a relevant training certificate such as the JEB/EDI Teacher Training Diploma can apply to become a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Instructor.
- Assessment is based on a combination of work submitted during the year and online exams.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must have a prior IT computing qualification, such as a FETAC, ECDL, City & Guilds eQuals Level 1 or Level 2 qualification or have relevant IT work experience.
Mature Students (including VTOS and BTEA)
Applicants without formal qualifications will be considered on the basis of experience and overall demonstrable ability.
Other Requirements
All applicants will have an advisory meeting to offer guidance and to ensure course suitability. Applicants will also be advised on course costs and registration details.
Fees
There are no tuition fees for EU students. At course commencement, students are required to pay for books, exams, €200 PLC Government Levy (unless exempt), a Student Services fee and where applicable professional body registration fees.
